101 in 1001

2017 has been a year of major change for me – I’ve moved to a new city, started a new career, moved in with my boyfriend, and started paying a mortgage instead of rent. I’m talking major change here, people!

Now that things have settled down a little bit on the home front, I’m looking forward to grabbing 2018 by the horns. But, I’m not sure I’m willing to stop there… So, I’ve decided to start the 101 things in 1001 days challenge! You can learn more about the challenge here, but here’s a quick overview:

The Challenge:  Complete 101 tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria: Tasks must be specific (no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (represent some amount of work on your part).

Why 1001 Days? Many people have created lists in the past – frequently simple challenges such as New Year’s resolutions or a ‘Bucket List’. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips, or outdoor activities.

So. starting on January 1, 2018 – my journey of 1,001 days begins. Maybe I’ll complete all 101, maybe not.
My ultimate goal is to challenge myself to focus on living the depth of my life, and not just the length.
